About Eva
It is hard to explain the feeling of working with clay. It is as pure as swimming in the ocean, hearing a child’s philosophy on life, or looking in the eyes of a lover. Clay is a vulnerable, beautiful, resilient and honest extension of yourself.
With a BFA in Applied Design from San Diego State, I spent the majority of my college years in the ceramic studio. I continue to create, teach and study in Long Branch, New Jersey.
Creating functional ware has taught me the importance of intention. Enjoying a cup of tea in a mug I created from start to finish is a blessing that brings my ideas to life. Plus, it makes the tea taste better!
Large sculptural works have helped me learn the ins and outs of how I approach projects that require planning and discipline. Working with nature directly connects me to the nature within myself, and exploring the medium is a privilege I’m thankful for every day.
My work is a collaboration with the places I go, the people I meet and the songs I hear. My work is a continuation of my soul, and as you interact with the work, I hope it awakens something in you too.
